On Friday, March 10th, (National Mario Day) several InTech students were given the opportunity through the InTech Esports Club to attend the Ken Garff Esports Spring Celebration at the Huntsmans Center at the University of Utah. There, the students heard from keynote speaker Doug Bowser, President of Nintendo of America, and interacted with many booths and displays featuring professional esports teams, university and college programs, robotics, drones, and of course, video game challenges.
While InTech did not have a competitive esports team this year, students and advisors were invited to participate in more friendly competitions for prizes. Ms. Anderson performed quite well at the Magic the Gathering tournament, while Brooke Allred won the ‘Pitch It to Win It’ competition.
